I sketched this waay back in high school, back when the "scene" was sort of obscure. Well, at least it seemed so at the time. Anyway, if you can't read the SAM description it says "the obviously straight scene kid who pretends to be gay for Annette's attention, a way to fantasize about being her boyfriend (with no risk)."

I guess this blog will be a pseudo sketch blog, pseudo random thought blog. Here are sketches from a French movie I rented a while ago, Murmur of the Heart. Now, I used to be a jazz fan of the most prudish temperament- I was only into the pre-war sound, but this movie just made me "get" modern jazz. I had to run out and buy Charlie Parker, and Dizzy CD's after watching this movie. My favorite scene is when Laurent visits that waltzy brunch under the white tent. It's perfect. He goes in, rudely steals a dance partner by physical force, not a word was said. Then he sits down next to that aristocrat pretty boy, and shows him a thing or two about Proust-- all with an air of "badass." I love that blonde pigtail girl in the movie, she has a ton of character-- she's very perky, modest, and dumbed down in an innocent sort of way. She's the type to smile at everything, and she has a strange way of being so engaging around others.
